1998 - 2003 Studium der Biologie an der Universität Hamburg. Abschluss: Diplom mit dem Hauptfach Genetik/Molekularbiologie und den Nebenfächern Pharmazeutische Biologie und angewandte Botanik.

Diplomarbeit: 2003: „Untersuchungen zur Steigerung der Transformationseffizienz in Getreide“  (betreut von Prof. H. Lörz)

2004 - 2010 Promotion an der Universität zu Lübeck: „Die frühe Chemokin- und Zytokinexpression nach einer Infektion mit Leishmania major im T-Zellareal des drainierenden Lymphknotens ist nicht entscheidend für den späteren Krankheitsverlauf“ (betreut von Prof. J Westermann)

Seit 2012: Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Thünen-Institut für Forstgenetik im Projekt „PopMass“ / „Development and use of novel gene technologies to increase biomass yield in the woody perennial Populus spec.“
