In a current project, Jan Cornelius Peters examines how the accumulation of work experience varies across regions and how these patterns have changed over the past 50 years. He presented preliminary findings at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO).

Christian Hundt, Director of the Thünen Institute of Rural Economics, has been appointed to the Expert Council for Rural Development (SRLE) at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH). The SRLE began its work immediately with its constituent meeting.

During the European Agricultural Research Congress (EAAE) in Bonn from August 26 to 29, researchers from across Europe will discuss how sustainable development in the agricultural and food industry can be achieved despite multiple crises. The Thünen Institute is participating with 45 contributions.

A new study examines how fiscal rules interact with gender-specific voting regulations at the local level. The research findings show that a higher proportion of local female policy makers leads to greater budget transparency.
