Ecosystem services in the tropics depend not only on land use and forest type but are also influenced by the landscape context.

The existence of various national and international initiatives, programs and tropical forest conservation policies necessitates information on their effectiveness and optimal policy mixes.

As part of his career training as a forestry inspector candidate at the Lower Saxony Chamber of Agriculture, Mr. Lorenz Friedrich is completing a one-month internship at the Thünen Institute of Forestry in February 2023.

Since February 2023, David Schicketanz has been joining our team as a research assistant in the fields of activity "Forestry in Germany" in the project "Remote sensing based National Detection Sytem for Forest Damages".
