New publication on tropical forest policy instruments

The existence of various national and international initiatives, programs and tropical forest conservation policies necessitates information on their effectiveness and optimal policy mixes.

Results of a related stakeholder survey from the Philippines, Ecuador and Zambia have now been published. Reforestation measures and protected areas were perceived as particularly effective across national borders. However, their implementation in policy mixes needs to be country specific and specifically take stakeholder power and interests into account.
