After studying chemical engineering at the Universidad de la República in Montevideo (Uruguay) and working on biorefinery and the utilization of forestry byproducts, Rodrigo Coniglio has been working on the nitrogen enrichment of lignin-rich fibers since February 2023. In the project "HoFaTo", nitrogen-enriched wood fibers are to be used, among other things, to lower nitrogen immobilization by microorganisms and increase the suitability of wood fibers as a peat substitute.
