Purpose: Baltic International Trawl Spring Survey

The 860th voyage of the Solea is part of the Baltic International Trawl Survey in the Baltic Sea, coordinated by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES), in which eight coastal states are participating. The aim of the voyage is to record demersal fish species in the southern part of the Belt Sea and the Arkona Sea during the above-mentioned period, using standard hauls and at randomly selected stations.

The tasks of the voyage are:

• Conducting a stratified random survey to determine indices for the quantitative calculation of cod and flatfish stocks, including hydrography
• Stock surveys of cod and all flatfish species
• Qualitative and quantitative studies of by-catch
• Additional sampling in response to national and international requests
• Exploration of new trawl grounds
• Catch of live fish
