The Thünen Institute of Wood Research took part in the 22nd International Symposium on Wood, Fiber and Pulping Chemistry (ISWFPC) in Raleigh, USA. In two presentations, the researchers shared recent findings on two key topics: targeted nitrogen enrichment of lignin for use as a substrate improver, and the development of bio-based adhesives as a sustainable alternative to conventional binders.
The ISWFPC is one of the world’s leading conferences in the field of wood-based chemistry. It offered an excellent platform for international scientific exchange and networking around the sustainable use of lignocellulosic resources.
