Long-term 3-point bending test of an LVL test specimen in the test rig prototype

The Thünen Institute of Wood Research is measuring the long-term bending behavior of laminated veneer lumber made of beech, spruce and pine by varying the moisture content and load. The research partner, the University of Stuttgart, uses this data to calculate creep curves and creep figures. The aim here is to compare the actual behavior of LVL with the deflection calculated in advance using simplified coefficients. The condition of LVL components in structures is recorded by industry partner Brüninghoff. Other project partners are Pollmeier and Steico.
