With the „WIR! – Wandel durch Innovation in der Region“ (engl.: Change through innovation in the region) program line, the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) is aiming to initiate sustainable innovation-based structural change in structurally weak regions. The program supports regional alliances of different stakeholders who work together to identify fields of innovation in their region, leverage regional innovation potential in the relevant areas and thereby lay the foundation for structural change in their regions.

The interim evaluation of the WIR! alliances took place in Berlin on June 23 and 24, 2025. Jan Cornelius Peters participated as a jury member at the invitation of the project management agency Jülich.

Further information on the funding line can be found on the BMFTR website here.
