Lydia Rosenkranz completed her Ph.D. Thesis about "Auswirkungen der Umsetzung von Naturschutzmaßnahmen auf die Forst- und Holzwirtschaft" on March 31, 2016. Her doctorate was result of a co-operation between Thünen Institute and Göttingen University.

Prof. Dr. Matthias Dieter, Director of the Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics, has been elected as the incoming Vice-Chair of the Joint ECE/FAO Working Party on Forest Statistics, Economics and Management at its thirty-eighth session, held in Geneva 23-24 March 2016.
