The cooperation which was inaugurated in the early 2000s aims at a scientific comparison of silvicultural management approaches for know-how transfer.  This time close-to-nature forest management concepts in northwest Germany were discussed and compared with forest management systems based on exotic trees (Castanea sativa, Pseudotsuga menziesii) in Rhineland-Palatinate in terms of silvicutural and economic soundness. The partners departed with deep impressions and will investigate how experiences of German forest management practice could be introduced into future forestry management concepts of Yunnan Province.
