Publication presents method for quantification of economic importance of the bioeconomy in Germany

In collaboration with the Institute for Market Analysis a basis for a future monitoring of bioeconomy were established.

This includes the setting of system boundaries with the official economic classification schemes, derivation of bio-based shares of relevant economic activities and the evaluation of official data regarding their usability in a future regular monitoring.

For 2014 German bio-based employment, gross value added and turnover were calculated.
