Her dissertation is entitled: "Analysis of raw material availability for the production of bio-based composites in South Africa". Emilin Joma da Silva did her PhD at the Department of Biology of the University of Hamburg. The dissertation is a result of the research project BioHome "Building materials for social housing from bio-based and recycled raw materials". It was conducted in cooperation with the Thünen Institute of Wood Research.
