Nick Norman Lagrain – student assistant

Since February, Nick Norman Lagrain has been working as a student assistant at the Thünen Institute of Forestry, supporting the research areas Forestry in Germany and Forest Products Markets.

Nick Norman Lagrain is currently studying Ecosystem Sciences in the interdisciplinary bachelor’s programme at Georg August University of Göttingen. He previously gained initial experience at the institute during an internship, where he focused on the relationships between cost and revenue structures of both large and small forestry enterprises.
In the future, Nick Norman Lagrain will contribute to the revision of the Economic Accounts for Forestry, which have been prepared annually since 1991 on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Home Affairs and serve as an important basis for national and international reporting.
Within the research area Forest Products Markets, he will support the ongoing task of wood resource monitoring, including research on wood industry locations and the analysis of satellite imagery.
