The Neuglobsow-Stechlinsee lowland monitoring station in northern Brandenburg is part of the UBA air monitoring network, and the test site has been expanded into an ecosystem-based research programme since 2004. Since 2023, the Thünen Institute of Forest Ecosystems has been carrying out several sub-programmes such as soil chemistry, needle and leaf analyses, vegetation studies, microbial decomposition and trace gas emissions.
