Research interests:
As soil ecologist with focus on agricultural soils, my research focusses on how agricultural management affects microbial driven soil functioning. I have a particular focus on microbial soil organic matter transformation.
Project:
This three-years PostDoc project aims to describe the microbial diversity of German arable soils, as well as to identify a set of microbial indicators for soil functioning in agricultural soils to be implemented in soil monitoring schemes. In this framework, 10% of the croplands from the Germany Agricultural Soil Inventory resampling campaign will be analysed for their microbial community composition and abundance, combined with measurements of microbial activity.
Related projects:
Part of the MonViA programme (https://www.agrarmonitoring-monvia.de/) and associated to the German Agricultural Soil Inventory (https://www.thuenen.de/de/fachinstitute/agrarklimaschutz/projekte/bodenzustandserhebung-landwirtschaft-bze-lw)
