The Roman Herzog Institute (RHI) awarded the Roman Herzog Research Prize Social Market Economy 2022 to three outstanding research contributions by young academics at a ceremony in the Literaturhaus in Munich. With a total of 35,000 euros in prize money, the interdisciplinary research prize, which is being awarded for the ninth time, is one of the most highly endowed awards in the field of economics and social sciences in Germany.
The third prize was awarded to Dominik Frankenberg for his dissertation. Frankenberg examines reform alternatives for the design of municipal fiscal equalisation and the consequences for securing a minimum financial endowment for municipalities.
In the talk that followed, the prize winners discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the social and political system in the context of the "Social Market Economy".
The Institute of Rural Economics cordially congratulates Dr. Frankenberg on this great award!
