Under the title “Towards the bioeconomy: The role of traditional and emerging products and supporting actions”, this Editorial introduces a Special Issue published in Forest Policy and Economics.

The sustainable management of renewable resources is important for the transition from a fossil-based towards a bio-based economy in Germany.
