Dr. Tarin Toledo Aceves - Guest scientist

Since August, Dr. Tarin Toledo Aceves has joined our team as a guest scientist in the field of "Forestry Worldwide".

Dr. Tarin Toledo Aceves is a researcher at the Instituto de Ecología A.C. (INECOL) in Mexico. She has a PhD in forest ecology from the University of Aberdeen in the UK. Her work focuses on the ecology and management of tropical montane forests. She is especially interested in tree seedling regeneration and improving forest management in diverse tropical landscapes. 

At the Mexican Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO), she coordinated a national-scale initiative to develop a diagnosis of cloud forests in Mexico. She was distinguished by the Rainforest Alliance as a Kleinhans Fellow and is currently a National Geographic Explorer.

She has been awarded the Georg Föster Fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to develop research on the management and restoration of cloud forests in collaboration with PD Dr. Sven Günter at the Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics in Germany.
