Simon Thomsen - new staff member

Since october Simon Thomsen has joined our team as a scientist in the field of "Forestry Worldwide".

Simon Thomsen has joined the project CarbonLeak as a new employee and will focus on land use change modelling in tropical countries with the software CLUMondo and the impact on carbon sinks. Mr. Thomsen has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and studied the Master’s program Global Change Geography, both at Humboldt University Berlin.
He has expert knowledge in the fields of remote sensing, GIS and spatial modelling. Thematically, his study focus has covered analysis of land use change in the tropics and its impact on wildlife habitat.
Prior to his new position, Mr. Thomsen worked as a research associate and lecturer at Leuphana University in Lüneburg and Carl-von-Ossietzky University in Oldenburg.
