Also institutions abroad are highly interested in information about how forests and timber use are regulated, monitored and analysed in Germany.

A private international research enterprise interviewed the head of the Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics on these issues. In particular they asked for his assessment of the situation of forestry in Romania and whether methods and knowledge could be transferred from Germany to Romania. Translated in Romanian language the interview is published in two magazines.
