Workshop on Egg Staging, Fecundity and Atresia in Horse mackerel and Mackerel (WKFATHOM)

From 12 to 16 October 2015, the Thünen Institute of Sea Fisheries in cooperation with the Institute of Hydrobiology and Fisheries Science (IHF) of the University of Hamburg will host the ICES Workshop on Egg staging, Fecundity and Atresia in Horse mackerel and Mackerel (WKFATHOM).

The workshop is held every 3 years prior to the triennial mackerel and horse mackerel egg survey in order to train survey participants in executing standard survey methods, in particular sorting fish eggs from the plankton samples and to reliably identify and stage mackerel and horse mackerel eggs at a high level of agreement.
