Musical artists Dagmar Barth-Weingarten and Hisae Otsuka-Stroh.

Mezzo-soprano Dagmar Barth-Weingarten and pianist Hisae Otsuka-Stroh will open the evening with pieces from the Romantic period. Through music, they will demonstrate how rural areas have always inspired artists. In addition, Dr Gesine Tuitjer, a researcher at the Thünen Institute, will take the audience on a journey through her research on the significance of art and culture outside of large cities.

Afterwards, we invite you to discover the works of artists Tara Frese and Eva Nalbach and to engage in conversation with the musicians and Thünen researchers.

How do rural areas influence art? What particular challenges do artists in the countryside face? How do they contribute to regional development?

Ask your questions and discuss art and culture in rural areas.
