How are artists and cultural workers in rural areas doing, and how can they be a resource for the development of rural areas? These questions are being investigated by the Thünen research project “KULT_Ressource.” Findings from the comparative case-study project were presented at the Schleswig-Holstein State Culture Congress, which took place in Rendsburg on November 27, 2025. In a vivid discussion with panel guests and the audience, Gesine Tuitjer highlighted the relationship between volunteer and full-time cultural actors, as well as the situation of self-employed artists and cultural workers who navigate between socio-cultural engagement and artistic employment.
