For about 30 years, the Yunnan Academy of Forestry and Grassland/China and the Thünen Institute of Forestry have maintained a mutual scientific exchange.
On 10.11.2023, Mr. Yasuto Hori visited the Thünen Institute of Forestry in Hamburg-Bergedorf to exchange views on contractual nature conservation in forests in Germany.
The Wood For Work team organised a session on “Labour and employment in forestry” to present the research results on a global scale and selected country case studies (i.e., Ecuador, Kenya, Ukraine and Viet Nam).
The EU regulation on deforestation-free supply chains (EUDR) will soon replace the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR). A study by the Thünen Institute examines the impact on companies in the timber sector and control authorities in the EU.
Facilitated by GIZ, the German development cooperation, a delegation of 19 influential persons from different Bengal authorities and universities visited Germany to exchange on and learn about sustainable land and natural resource use and mechanisms to tackle use conflicts.
