The assessment approach combines material flow analysis with Logical Framework for a Sustainability Assessment (LOFASA) and elements of Life Cycle Assessments. As a proof of applicability, to identify data gaps and suggest how to close them, the proposed assessment approach is exemplified for the material flow of softwood lumber and its core product EPAL 1 pallet.
