Fischbestände online” (fish stocks online, in German) is the Thünen Institute of Baltic Sea Fisheries’ internet portal providing information of all aspects of the sustainable use of wild marine fish relevant for the German market. The project started in 2009 and is mainly financed by a consortium federations of retailers, processors, fishers and importers, who do have no influence on the content of the website but use it frequently for their sourcing decisions. Dr. Kristina Barz, in charge of the project, received the prize within a formal ceremony at Thünen headquarters in Brunswick.
