Institute of Baltic Sea Fisheries at the Open Day of the Federal Government in Berlin

“Invitation to a state visit” was the slogan of this year’s open day of the German federal government. At the Ministry of Nutrition and Agriculture (BMEL) in Berlin, the focus was on fish (“Mehr sehen”).

The Thünen institute showcased fisheries management, age determination of fish, Fischbestände online (in German), eel and user conflicts in the marine environment. The host, federal minister Dr Christian Schmidt, took the time to learn about the situation of Baltic cod.
