25th Session of the International Poplar Commission (IPC) in Berlin, 13th to 16th September 2016

The International Poplar Commission is one of the oldest statutory bodies of the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations).

IPC aims to promote the cultivation, conservation and utilization of poplars and willows. About 250 participants from about 40 countries attended their 25th session. Prof. Dr. Matthias Dieter was invited to give the first key note speak, titled “Poplars and other fast growing trees - renewable resources for future green economies”.

The session was hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and operated by the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR). Further information here.
