She was specifically interested in our work on the reduction of unwanted bycatch, of harbour porpoises in static gear (PAL project) as well as on innovative developments to improve the selectivity of trawls. Part of the program was a visit of our newest and smallest research vessel, FRV Clupea - the planned one-day cruise and practical demonstration of gear technology research had to be cancelled due to unfavourable weather.
