Renewable resources are increasingly used for the industrial production of raw materials and products. The general public requests sustainably produced and processed products. During the cultivation phase, the future use of renewable raw materials is frequently unknown. A multiple certification process of renewable resources (depending on the intended use) is an unnecessary burden on farmers, traders and other market participants.

Renewable raw materials are traded globally. Therefore, guidelines for individual economic sectors are needed, as well as the coordination between the different industry sectors at the national and international level.

We participate in the development of industry guidelines (VDI-6310), international norms and standards at both the national (INRO, www.inro-biomasse.de) and international level (ISO – Sustainability criteria for bioenergy). We are participating in international networks, e.g. International Energy Agency Task 42 - Biorefining.
