In his keynote address at Harvard Business School in Boston, Christian Hundt presented research findings from the Thünen Institute on the economic development of rural areas in Germany.


Dominik Frankenberg receives the Research Prize Social Market Economy of the Roman Herzog Institute. The award honours his dissertation on function-related need measurement in municipal fiscal equalization.


At the 13th Rural Development Conference of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Jan Cornelius Peters presented research results on the spatial mobility of young workers.


Jan Cornelius Peters and Christian Hundt, together with five colleagues, received the Thünen Research Award for excellent target group-oriented work for the booklet “Rural Areas” from the series “Information on Political Education”.


Dominik Frankenberg, a researcher at the Thuenen Institute of Rural Economics, has been awarded the Carl Goerdeler Prize 2022 for his dissertation on function-related need measurement in municipal fiscal equalization.


Jan Cornelius Peters, a researcher at the Thünen Institute of Rural Economics, was elected by the members of the Gesellschaft für Regionalforschung (GfR) as scientific secretary to the GfR board on Feb. 16, 2022.
