BZE Agriculture Profile Viewer

The Agricultural Soil Inventory (Bodenzustandserhebung Landwirtschaft, BZE) is the first comprehensive and uniform inventory of agriculturally used soils in Germany. At 3,104 sampling points the stocks of organic carbon were determined and other parameters were recorded.

The visual perception of soil characteristics plays a central role in soil science. For this reason, the Thünen Institute has published the WebGIS application "Profile viewer", in which all 3,104 sampled soil profiles are displayed together with some essential characteristic values. The diversity of our agricultural soils can thus also be experienced visually.

For data protection reasons, the geographical location of the sampling points shown has been obscured and lies within a 4 km radius of the actual sampling point. The core data set with the most important data from the laboratory and field is available for download on OpenAgrar.
