Andreas Frey, journalist of the Sunday newspaper "Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung" recently interviewed the life cycle assessment expert responsible for greenhouse gas reporting at the Thünen Institute of Wood Research, Dr Sebastian Rüter, on the topic: "Can the climate be saved by timber construction?" Dr. Rüter considers that greenhouse gas neutrality cannot be achieved by using only wood as raw material in the building sector as its processing is energy-intensive. However, greenhouse gases can be saved by using wood as construction material, but only if wood from sustainably managed domestic forests is used. The entire interview can be read in: "Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung“, July, 18th 2021, page 55
