Development and evaluation of methods and techniques of irrigation management

Caused by climatic change and changing basic conditions an enlargement of agricultural irrigation area in Germany is expected. Against the background of an increasing demand of irrigation water and the limited withdrawal quantities the possibilities of water saving production of agricultural crops are of increasing importance in the future.

Background and Objective

The objective is to optimize the water efficiency of irrigation by means of a combination of water saving soil tillage and adapted irrigation techniques for chosen agricultural crops in field experiments.
