Research interests

  • Ecosystem-based management, sustainable resource use and protection of marine ecosystems in temperate and tropical zones
  • Marine spatial planning and its interactions with fishing, other uses and the marine environment
  • Spatial modelling approaches for representing species distributions and biodiversity patterns of fish
  • Evaluation of spatial management measures in relation to fisheries and fish
  • Development of decision support (e.g. scenarios) for spatial management

  • How do aquatic resources and their users adapt to climate change? (CERES), PostDoc, Assessment of risks and opportunities of climate change for the aquaculture and fisheries sector
  • Maritime Spatial Planning, Marine Strategy Framework Directive and biodiversity of North Sea fish
