Memorandum of Understanding signed with Ghana

New

Recently the Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics has signed a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Renewable Resources of the University for Development Studies in Tamale, Ghana. Both parties mutually agree to cooperate in the fields of “sustainable forest management” and “landscape management”.

The Ghanaian Faculty has been founded in 2009 and is obliged to research and teaching in environmental sciences. Four departments carry out research in the fields of game management, fisheries, forest management, and ecotourism and environmental management. All departments are also active in teaching within the study course of Management of Natural Resources. The faculty in Ghana has cooperated in the past with Thünen Institute of International Forestry and Forest Economics on aspects of sustainable forest management. The cooperation is now formally strengthened with the signed Memorandum of Understanding.
