Cornelius Regelmann is employed with the progressive conceptual development of a forest economic simulation model of the institute and will model current forest policy issues.

His work focuses on the integration of new elements of multifunctional forestry and the improvement of climate-sensitive modeling. In addition, he will be modelling changed forest management strategies, alternative tree species selection and the long-term effects of biotic and abiotic damaging events. The goal of his work is the further development of a strategic decision-making model that can be used to derive the long-term effects of different forest-management options for forestry enterprises, as well as for the German forestry sector.

Cornelius Regelmann studied at the Georg-August University in Göttingen, where he completed both his Bachelor (B.Sc.) and his Master degree (M.Sc.) in the field of "Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology" with a focus on "Forest Management and Utilization". For the last three years he worked as a freelance consultant for small and medium-sized forest enterprises in the field of forest management and operational planning.
