Azin Sadeghi works on the project “Landscape Forestry in the Tropics”. Focus of her work is the analysis of rural households and there role as subsistence-oriented or market-oriented drivers of land-use change in tropical forested landscapes in the Philippines, Ecuador and Zambia.

Azin Sadeghi has recently completed the postgraduate studies “International Cooperation for Sustainable Development” at the Centre for Rural Development (SLE) in Humboldt University of Berlin. She holds a master's degree in "Sustainable International Agriculture", specializing in tropical agriculture from the University of Göttingen. During her studies as well as participation in several research projects in the tropics, she has gained a deep insight into analyzing the livelihood of small-scale farming households.
