How to find Höxter

The Thünen Institute of Rural Economics is located in the eastern Westphalian town of Höxter (Am Markt 4, 37671 Höxter).

The city of Höxter is located in the center between the cities of Kassel, Paderborn, Bielefeld, Hanover and Hildesheim, directly on the Weser River.

  • Autobahn A7 (Hamburg - Hannover), Autobahn A2 (direction Bielefeld), exit Lauenau, continue on B83 and B64 to Höxter.
  • Autobahn A7 to Hann.-Münden, continue on B80 and B83 along the Weser to Höxter.
  • Autobahn A44 (Dortmund - Kassel), freeway A33 to junction Paderborn Zentrum, continue on B64 to Höxter.
  • Berlin, Autobahn A2 (Braunschweig - Salzgitter), Autobahn A7 (direction Kassel), exit Seesen, continue on B64 in direction Höxter

Höxter can be reached directly by train via the route Paderborn - Altenbeken - Kreiensen. You can reach the long-distance network at the Altenbeken and Kreiensen transfer points. From there there are connections to the ICE stops Hannover, Göttingen and Kassel. From Höxter-Ottbergen there is a route via Bodenfelde to Göttingen and Northeim (Harz). From the train station you can reach the institute, which is centrally located at the market, within a few minutes by foot.
