The Institutes of Biodiversity and of Farm Economics at the Johann Heinrich von Thünen-Institute, Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries, in Braunschweig is seeking
a scientist (m/f/d)
in the area of Agroecological transformation towards sustainable land-use systems. The term of the position is 28 month, starting at April 1st, 2021. It is a part-time position with 27,3 hours per week (70 %).
The position is within the EU Horizon 2020 CSA project Agroecology for Europe (AE4EU). The goals of AE4EU are to develop a framework for agricultural Living Labs (LL) and similar Research Infrastructures (RI) for the European Union and to establish a European Agroecology Exchange Network. AE4EU seeks understanding of structures and functions of existing LL/ RI and will develop tools and frameworks for future LL and RIs to accelerate the transition to sustainable agriculture and food systems. Overall, AE4EU will empirically analyse current LL/ RI, identify successes and impediments of transition towards sustainable land use and will develop resources that pathway future policies relevant to agroecology in Europe and beyond.
