At the Institute of Sea Fisheries, one of 14 institutes of the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute, Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries, a temporary position - beginning on 16.11.2020 limited to 31.10.2023 - of a
Postdoc researcher position (f/m/d)
is to be filled within the project MuSSel (Multiple Stressors on North Sea Life).
The Thünen Institute of Sea Fisheries addresses ecological and economics questions regarding fisheries. The announced position is located in the working group Marine spatial management (see www.thuenen.de/en/sf/fields-of-activity/marine-spatial-management).
MuSSel is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and integrates high-resolution models to gain a better understanding of combined effects of climate change and multiple human pressures on the North Sea ecosystem. Central elements are the analysis of spatio-temporal trends in human pressures and the development of an operational framework to assess the risk of cumulative effects of human pressures on fish and benthic communities.
The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the development and implementation of an operational framework to assess the risk of cumulative effects of human pressures on fish and benthic communities. This framework will allow evaluating management options and informing marine spatial planning. In addition, the candidate is expected engage actively with MuSSel stakeholders, and contribute to the project coordination, dissemination and reporting.
