The Institutes of Biodiversity and of Farm Economics at the Johann Heinrich von Thünen-Institute, Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries, in Braunschweig are offering a full-time (currently 39 hours per week), fixed-term position for 12 month to be filled as soon as possible for a
Scientist (m/f/d)
to work within the project FInAL (www.final-projekt.de). In the frame of the Action Programme for Insect Protection (Aktionsprogramm Insektenschutz), FInAL will establish landscape laboratories in typical and representative agricultural landscapes of Germany in which innovative measures for facilitation of insects through integrated cultivation of renewable resources in a landscape context will be developed, demonstrated and evaluated.
The aim of FInAL is to transform existing and established agricultural production systems into innovative systems. A fair and meaningful comparison of the sustainability of both systems requires a combination of agronomic and economic indicators for informing about the profitability, stability, resilience and tolerance of the respective systems. Those indicators need to be monitored within the landscape laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing such an indicator system.
