Job offers of the Thünen Institute
The Institute of Biodiversity at the Johann Heinrich von Thünen-Institute, Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries, in Braunschweig is offering a 65 % -position (currently 25,35 hours per week) for a
PhD Student (m/f/d)
with expertise in soil biology focussed in microbiology
for research on monitoring biodiversity in agricultural landscapes. The position is limited to a fixed term of three (3) years and is to be filled as soon as possible. The employment is designed to develop own scientific qualifications. The own scientific results achieved in the project can be used for the PhD thesis. The Technical University of Braunschweig can be considered for the doctorate. The temporal contract-limitation is based on § 2 (1) S. 1 Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz.
Germany currently has no national-wide comprehensive data on the condition and development of biodiversity in agricultural landscapes. Against this background, a modular monitoring of agricultural landscapes will be developed in the new research network. An important component is the soil-living organisms and their ecosystem services.
