Charta für Holz 2.0 und aktuelle Forschungsthemen im FokusLIGNA, the world's most important trade fair for wood and wood processing, will take place from May 22 to 26, 2017, in Hanover. The Thünen Institute and the Center for Wood Science at the University of Hamburg will be present in Hall 11, booth F69 and present their research and study programs together.
This year, the focus is on the Charta for Wood 2.0, which was introduced a few weeks ago by the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Christian Schmidt. The objectives of the Charta are central challenges of our time: climate protection - added value - resource efficiency. The use of wood as the most significant renewable resource is in this context of particular importance.
On the other hand, we present the research spectrum of the Center for Wood Science and the Thünen Institute. These include the production of innovative wood-based materials and wood-plastic composites, as well as the new possibilities for detecting wood species in paper. New findings on the topics of wood and climate, emissions from wood and wood materials as well as figures and facts from the world forestry are also included.
The Thünen Institute and the University of Hamburg introduce themselves to potential students as a renowned scientific training center that is unique in this cooperative form. Behind the wheel of a Go-Kart constructed of wood you can test your skills on a (virtual) circuit.
We are looking forward to your visit!
