The Coordination Unit Soil supports the President of the Thünen Institute in finding answers to cross-cutting questions on soil use and management in agriculture, sylviculture and soil protection policies. The coordination unit bundles the soil-related research activities conducted under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
One of our main tasks is to compile a comprehensive overview of all the results of soil research generated by the Thünen Institutes. The Coordination Unit Soil draws up policy approaches for soil use and soil protection, and designs communication strategies for knowledge transfer to practitioners in agriculture and sylviculture. We want to strengthen the networking of the federal research on soil and initiate cross-institute working groups. The Coordination Unit Soil is responsible for the continuous development of the Thünen soil research strategy and supports the acquisition of third-party funding. It is the focal point for all questions concerning soils, their use and management at the Thünen Institute. We should be happy to answer any soil-related questions you may have or put you in touch with one of our experts. You are welcome to contact us!
