How to find Ahrensburg

A satellite office of the Thünen Institute for Fishery Ecology is located in Ahrensburg (Wulfsdorfer Weg 204, Tel.: +49 4102 70860 15).

Travelling by car

From the south:
Stay left on the A 7 at the Horster Dreieck and travel towards Lübeck/ Berlin/ Hamburg/ Lüneburg (A 1). Exit Nr. 28 towards Ahrensburg/ Großhansdorf/ Siek, turn right at the L 224 (towards Ahrensburg), right onto the entrance to the L 91/ Manhagener Allee, at L 91/ Manhagener Allee turn right. Continue on the L 91, staying to the left at B 75/ Woldenhorn, turn right at Bornkampsweg, and turn right again at Wulfdorfer Weg.

From the north:
Exit the A 7 at B 432 towards HH Schnelsen-North/ Norderstedt Süd/ Airport. Then travel over the entrance towards Norderstedt/ Airport onto the Ring 3. Ring 3 becomes the Stadtbahnstraße, and later the Saseler Markt. Bear left into the Waldweg, from there right onto the Halenreihe, and bear left into Kattjahren. Kattjahren becomes Claus-Ferck-Straße, then “Im alten Dorfe”, then “Wiesenhöfen.” From there turn left into the Eulenkrugstraße. After 2 km turn left onto the B 75/ Hamburger Straße and continue 3.8 km left into Wulfsdorfer Weg.

Travelling by train

Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take the region train R10 (towards Ahrensburg or Bargteheide) to the Ahrensburg station (about 20 minutes), take the Bus 569 from the bus stop Heimgarten-Schule to Weißdornweg Station. Then, turn right into the Wulfdorfer Weg 204, about 20 minutes on foot (Total travel time from main train station about 50 minutes). We suggest to take a taxi from the Ahrensburg railway station.
