Assessment of endangered fish species in the Baltic.

As a contribution to the protection of fish species in German waters of the Baltic Sea, we assess with scientific methods whether fish speces are decllining so that they are threatened by extinction.

Background and Objective

Beside questions of the use of marine fish stocks, we investigate long term changes of the marine fish fauna in the Baltic Sea. As a contribution to the protection of fish species in German waters of the Baltic Sea, we assess with scientific methods whether fish speces are decllining so that they are threatened by extinction. These species will then be listed on Red Lists to solicitate timely measures for their protection.

Preliminary Results

Results will be used for the publication of Red List.
